Erislandy Lara Santoya (born April 11, 1983) is a Cuban professional boxer. He is a unified light middleweight champion, having held the WBA title since 2014 (promoted to Super champion in 2016) and the IBO title since 2015. BoxRec and The Ring magazine rank Lara as the second best light middleweight in the world; BoxRec ranks him as the tenth best boxer in the world, pound for pound. Lara is widely regarded as one of the most technically skilled fighters in boxing today.
As captain of the Cuban national amateur team, Lara won a gold medal at the 2005 World Championships in the welterweight division as well as three consecutive Cuban national championships from 2005 to 2007.
