Thibaut Nicolas Marc Courtois (Dutch pronunciation: ; French pronunciation: ?; born 11 May 1992) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays for English club Chelsea and the Belgium national team as a goalkeeper. Courtois is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of his generation.
Courtois came up through the Genk youth system, and progressed to the senior team helping them win the 2010–11 Belgian Pro League. In July 2011 Courtois joined Chelsea for a reported €9 million, but was immediately loaned to Atlético Madrid. In three seasons with Atlético he won several trophies including La Liga and reaching the Champions League Final in 2014.
